How will hosting a workshop impact my group fitness schedule? In most cases you will not need to cancel classes in order to host FitClasses.com. Since our workshops always start with a master class, we simply schedule the workshop so that the master class coincides with a peak hour class. Then we teach your peak hour class inviting gym members and workshop particants to attend. It's actually a great way to let the members preview what your instructors will be learning in the workshops. Back to Top
How much does it cost the facility? Hosting FitClasses.com is free to the facility.*
The group fitness director's registration is free. If an instructor is instrumental in bringing FitClasses.com workshops to the facility their registration will be free also.
*Some facilities pay for some or all instructors' continuing education. If this is the case, we will coordinate payment with the facility. Back to Top
How much will the workshops cost our instructors? All 2006 FitClasses.com workshops are worth 3.5 CEUs and cost $59. This is below the national average of $20 per CEU credit.
If an instructor is interested in helping market the workshops in the local area they may earn commissions and extra complimentary registrations for their facility. Back to Top
What's a dinner session? This is a new concept - we come and teach the master class at 5:30, then we discuss the lecture material while enjoying dinner together. Finally, we go back in to the studio for practical application. The session lasts from 5:00 PM to 9:00PM. Learn more about dinner sessions >>> Back to Top
Can you renew AFAA certification by taking FitClasses.com workshops? AFAA requires that instructors take 15 CEU hours every 2 years in order to maintain current certification. Your CPR certification is worth 2 CEUs. 1 CEU must come directly from AFAA.
A typical workshop weekend will consist of 3 or 4 workshops. Each workshop is worth 3.5 CEUs. This means that you can earn 10.5 or 14 CEUs in one weekend.
Then, we bring with us AFAA home study CEUs in order to allow instructors to make up the balance. This means that, as long as an instructor's CPR certification is current, instructors can finish all CEUs required for recerticiation in one weekend. Back to Top
Does FitClasses.com offer online CEUs? Currently AFAA does not allow organizations outside of themselves to offer online courses or correspondence courses for CEUs. Back to Top
